#341 Introduction to Pediatric Neuro-developmental Treatment – NDT
This 2 day course is designed for therapists who treat pediatric clients with neurological deficits. This course will focus on the problem solving approach from an NDT perspective. Participants will understand the current concepts and principles of NDT and the importance of treating for a functional outcome. Participants will improve their observations skills to identify functional abilities/limitations, multi-system integrities/impairments, and single system integrities/impairments as they relate to children with neuomotor deficits. Using the ICF model participants will learn to identify and prioritize what systems may be leading to functional limitations and how to treat these impairments. This lab intensive course will allow the participant to learn NDT strategies and techniques to address specific impairments to work towards functional outcomes. This course is lab focused, therefore it is recommended that participants bring comfortable clothing to allow freedom of movement and also allow partners to view and handle trunk and extremities.
