#7127 Diagnosis and Treatment of Midfoot Injuries in Runners
Running is a critical requirement for many professional, competitive, and fitness activities, and should be treated as a functional ADL for patients who run. However, running injuries are different from similar injuries found in non-runners, and require different methods for diagnosis and treatment. Running injuries involving the midfoot region are particularly tricky to diagnose, and can be unresponsive to nonspecific treatments. Diagnosis and Treatment of Midfoot Injuries in Runners will familiarize you with the basics of running injury diagnosis - including the identification, typing, and staging of running injuries - with a focus on injuries of the midfoot region. You will be introduced to a phased running injury management program that is specifically customized for midfoot injuries, including specific clearance criteria that will help you evaluate and manage the patient's progress during recovery. This program includes specific guidelines for manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic activities for running injuries to the midfoot region.
