#7235 The Pain in the Brain Understanding Neuroplasticity and the Clinical Use of Graded Motor Imagery
Graded Motor Imagery is an emerging therapeutic strategy for treating both musculoskeletal and neurological insults. By learning a Graded Motor Imagery Program (GMIP) the clinician will be able to treat the cortical representation that has changed the brain. The interplay between the brain and the body is most important to understand to assist in designing a treatment program that can "rewire the brain " . This lecture will present a model to use "top down treatment " ( GMIP ) as well as traditional "bottom up" treatment to improve functional outcomes.
