This new 2-hour webinar can be a ‘stand-alone’ course. Or it can be viewed as a pre-requite and accompanying webinar to a live, in-person, one-day lab intensive course on assessment and interventions for patients with vestibular deficits. Topics included in this webinar will span causes of vertigo such as BPPV, Vestibular Neuritis, Labyrinthitis, Meniere’s Disease, Vestibular Migraine, Acoustic Neuroma (Vestibular Schwannoma), Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (3PD or PPPD)-understanding functional neurological disorder (FND), and Central Causes (CVA, MS, Cerebellar lesion, etc.).
Efforts will be made to discuss each classification with respect to examination and treatment. Topics such as Oculomotor exam, VOR function with HIT, Positional testing for BPPV, Balance testing and Cerebellar examination will be discussed. Strategies for treatment for BPPV and Peripheral Vestibular Hypofunction such as Epley, Semont, Gufoni, as well as Adaptation, Habituation, and Substitution/Compensatory methods will also be discussed.
Course instruction methods include lecture, demonstration, videos, case studies and question/answers. (Intermediate Level)
