#7206 Ataxia Unpacked: Comprehensive Evaluation and Evidence-Based Treatment Strategies
This continuing education course provides a comprehensive, evidence-based overview of the evaluation and treatment of individuals with ataxia. Participants will review the underlying causes and types of ataxia, including sensory, vestibular, and cerebellar presentations, and examine how these impairments affect balance, gait, coordination, and functional performance. Emphasis is placed on standardized assessment tools, motor learning considerations, and current evidence supporting rehabilitation interventions. Video case studies are used throughout the course to facilitate clinical reasoning, highlight functional limitations, and demonstrate treatment strategies targeting gait, postural control, and activities of daily living (ADLs). Participants will leave with practical strategies to improve safety, functional independence, and participation for individuals with ataxia across clinical settings.
