#7219 Head and Neck Cancer: Issues Related to Speech and Swallowing
The purpose of this course is to provide a knowledge base on the diagnosis of dysphagia and speech deficits and treatment strategies including use of tracheoesophageal prosthesis (TEP) for individuals diagnosed with head and neck cancers. Characteristics and functional impact of head and neck lymphedema on speech, swallowing and quality of life will be reviewed. The importance of a multi-disciplinary team approach in the treatment of head and neck cancer will also be discussed. (Introductory Level)
