As healthcare professionals, we know the value of deepening our expertise — especially in areas that influence multiple functions of daily life like breathing, swallowing, speech, and craniofacial development. That’s why the Integrative Myofunctional Specialist Certification (IMSC) from Motivations CEU is such an exciting opportunity for clinicians ready to expand their clinical skillset and elevate patient outcomes.
What Is This Certification?
The Integrative Myofunctional Specialist Certification is a 28-hour continuing education course designed to help licensed healthcare professionals — including therapists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, dentists, and other allied health clinicians — gain specialized training in orofacial myofunctional therapy.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, this course takes a holistic, evidence-based approach to understanding how dysfunctional oral habits, tongue posture, breathing patterns, and oral rest posture influence craniofacial development, feeding, speech, sleep, and more.
What You’ll Learn
Over the course of the certification, participants explore:
Foundations of orofacial anatomy and physiology
Assessment and diagnosis of orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs)
Evidence-based treatment strategies and therapeutic exercises
Practical interventions targeting nasal breathing, chewing, swallowing, and habit elimination
Collaborative care strategies with interdisciplinary teams
Unlike other course offerings, this program emphasizes real-world application. Participants complete a post-course test and submit case studies to apply principles learned and demonstrate competency — preparing clinicians to deliver effective, ethical, and collaborative care in their scope of practice.
Who Teaches the Course?
The certification is led by experienced clinicians, including Samantha Heidenreich, OTD, OTR/L and Bre Price, CCC-SLP, QOM — both professionals with deep expertise in myofunctional therapy and interdisciplinary care.
When and How It’s Offered
This live webinar course is offered several times in 2026:
February 5–7, 2026
July 16–18, 2026

Each session runs Thursday through Saturday, with pre-reading required before the live webinar.
