Janine Wiskind, MS, OTR/L brings it all together for Pediatric Therapists with her four part series on the Pediatric Brain.
Part 1: Neurobiology of the Sensory-Motor Systems and their Application to Treatment
Part 2: Neurobiology of Emotional Regulation and its Application to Treatment
Part 3: The Neurobiology of the Visual-Vestibular Systems
Part 4: Primitive Reflex Integration
This course will teach clinicians about the neurobiology of the different regions of the brain and how the function/dysfunction within each region applies to the evaluation of, and creative treatment planning for your pediatric client. Therapists will learn the role neurotransmitters play in regulation, attention, play, and function.
Treatment activities are discussed to strengthen the individual regions within the brain and support a whole-brain connection to the body for improved body awareness and sensory-motor development. Many ideas for play-based activities are provided to add to the therapist's toolbox.
